Vanessa Twyford; Broker

A lifelong resident of Carroll Gardens, Vanessa specializes in residential sales, rentals and management in Brownstone Brooklyn. Being licensed for over a decade, she has built a solid foundation of trusting relationships with homeowners, renters, buyers and sellers, creating a lasting bond with people in all facets of our community.

In 2005 she gave form to her vision by opening Twyford Real Estate in hopes of bringing a personal touch to what has become a very corporate industry. Vanessa brings a sense of integrity and professionalism when assessing the needs of each individual, assuring to provide a thorough and positive experience. Previously working for a large company, she prefers an intimate approach where each client is given specialized care and undivided attention. To her, property buying selling and renting is not about numbers but about people; human emotions and unique circumstances.

Vanessa's grandmother, a long-time community activist and founding member of the Carroll Gardens Block Association, instilled in her at an early age the importance of playing an active role in the neighborhood in which you live. That responsibility and commitment stuck with her as she continues to keep up with critical issues by regularly attending meetings for organizations like Carroll Gardens Neighborhood Association, Gowanas Canal Community Development Corporation, Brooklyn Task Force and Community Board 6 where she has been a board member for years.

Juan Carlos Bastidas; Associate Broker

Associate Broker to Twyford Real Estate, Juan Carlos has had the opportunity to sell to a broad spectrum of clients, ranging from first time home-owners to savvy, multimillionaire investors- and with much success! His years of experience and skills as a former business owner make him a true asset to any team, but especially to our family owned real estate firm. Juan Carlos' appreciation of, and involvement in, every aspect of Downtown Brooklyn (where he found his wife and is currently raising his two young boys) is complementary to his passion for the trade. Not only is Juan Carlos a long time licensed salesperson, but he is also a Brooklyn property owner, which gives him a unique ability to 'see the other side.'  Juan Carlos' fluency in Spanish opens up even more doors by giving him access to New York's Hispanic Community. Between his love for Brooklyn, his hard work, and his excellent intuition Juan Carlos has become a huge resource, a well of knowledge for the real state industry in Brooklyn and beyond. Amalia Papachristopoulos; Licensed Real Estate Agent

 When Amalia Papachristopoulos returned to NYC after living in Greece for several years, she had a new higher standard for quality of life. She yearned for the familiar sense of community.  Finding that in Carroll Gardens she made it her mission to become a liaison between her homeowner neighbors and the aspiring Brooklyn-ite. Thus Amalia specializes in rentals, here at Twyford Real Estate. In addition she is an active parent at PS 58 and teaches cooking and yoga to community youth. Amalia graduated from Bard College earning a degree in Language and Literature (French and Italian) which further add to her unique qualities as a real estate agent. Creating a copasetic environment for all involved, in each and every transaction, Amalia threads together the best combination for every situation.

 Richard T. Honovic; Licensed Real Estate Professional

 As a native and current resident of Carroll Gardens, Richard has witnessed the metamorphosis of South Brooklyn and the Renaissance of Carroll Gardens. Having attended all local grammar schools, Richard’s familiarity with the nuances of Carroll Gardens, is second nature. He is well versed in property locations as well as their values. Having a degree in Architecture, Richard brings even more expertise to the table in the area of structure and design. Ten years of architecture experience in the five boroughs has given him the ability to seamlessly transition into the real estate industry and all it entails. Richard’s personable demeanor, attention to detail and tireless work ethic, coupled with his hands on experience of the neighborhood and higher education make him a most valuable asset to Twyford Real Estate and the community at large.
